In an effort to slow the continuing spread of Coronavirus cases in the US, President Trump announced a 30-day ban on travel from several European countries beginning at midnight on Friday, March 13th. Airlines immediately began suspending services to comply with the directive, slashing available freight capacity to the US. In response to the announcement, airfreight rates increased rapidly and continue to trend upward.
