The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has announced a draft restriction effective April 30, 2019 due to the present and
projected levels of Gatun Lake.
This draft restriction impacts the weight allowance per vessel and subsequently per container. Therefore, reduced weight limits will be enforced for containers on vessels traveling via the Panama Canal during this time. Containers which exceed the weight allowance may be at risk to be omitted from the vessel sailing.
