Dock workers have agreed to resume operations immediately at all East and Gulf Coast ports following a tentative deal reached with the US Maritime Alliance. The announcement to extend the union's Master Contract until January 2025 brings an end to the 3-day work strike that halted movement over wage and automation disputes. At least 45 vessels from Maine to Texas have been unable to call port since the strike began, and it will take several weeks for terminals to work through the backlog. Normal operations have resumed however, and importers can expect minor disruption to supply chains.
OTS will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your Sales Representative for more information.
