Teamsters Strike Canadian National Railway

Please be aware of a developing strike situation with the Teamsters Canadian Rail Conference striking the Canadian National Railway. Over 3,200 conductors, yard workers, and other train workers in the TCRC began picketing on Tuesday, November 19th.

Without these employees, the CN Railway feels it cannot operate safely at full capacity and has begun winding down rail operations. The CN is prioritizing the movement of international freight, and if a deal is made quickly, there will be no disruption of railroad services to this industry. The oil and farming industries are most heavily impacted at this time.

The railroad company has proposed bringing in federal arbitrators to resolve the strike situation quickly. Previously, the Teamsters declined entering this voluntary binding arbitration.

OTS will continue monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates accordingly. Please contact your OTS Sales representative with any questions.
